Getting ready to travel

Hey everyone... yes! Finally another post in English for my non-German friends. I am sure a lot of you appreciate my great effort to show you that I care about you and have not forgotten you. ;)

So what has been new in my life? I have spent most of my time these past weeks with preparing for exams and my last presentations. Tomorrow is my last exam in Business Policy, I had one today and yesterday but after that I am done..
Last Monday we had a final group presentation in my Promotional Management class which was about creating a promotional advertisement campaign for the Nexcare Acne Patch by 3M. YES, the company that usually produces the notorious Post-It notes, sponsored that class and gave out prices. So it was actually a case competition.

Well, I spent a lot of time last weekend, basically the WHOLE weekend, together with my group working on the design of the print ads. I think they are hilarious.. Due to copyright issues, I can't put them online though, so you better ask me in person ;) The judges liked the idea, it was the most creative, but not suitable for them... The picture kind of shows my opinion about that!

Other than that I have just been exploring Singapore. Apart from my occasional salsa sessions at Union Square and Xenbar I went sightseeing... Last week I went to the Birdpark with Gloria. It's like a zoo but only with, eh..yes, with birds. There were many nice birds and it was a really romantic day.

Oh yeaah.. the birdpark also hosts the world's HIGHEST man-made waterfall... woohoo!

Also, there was a German film festival sponsored by the Goethe Institut where I watched one movie with some of the German crewhich took place in Romania. Very random movie..

I've been feeling quite sad the last weeks because I know my stay is not for that much longer, not that I have been made so good friends. Singapore itself got actually quite boring after all. I mean, there is just too much coherence and routine in the daily life.
However, I'm going to travel in December through South-East Asia, so that should be enough for a change :)

At the Istana "open house".. only twice a year one can visit the residence of Singapore's president and I used this previlige to take this shot of Queen Victoria.

Singaporeans: $0
All foreigners: $1
No comment! ;)

This is little India with a very nice temple in the back. One has to take off one's shoes inside.. just like home! That's what Singaporeans in general do by the way as the next pic shows:

Those are even more shoes than we have back at my house.. and the people that have visited my house know what I mean ;)

The German speaking crew at Aurelia's birthday. She is for some reason not in that picture though.

Me at the entrance to Chinatown where I hang out very often.. yes, that's where the salsa bar is ;)

Chinatown is also where you can find Erich's Würstlstand. Very funny to hang out at and to meet drunk British tourists. For some reason there were also a lot of British dressed up as Germans at the Oktoberfest. They seem to like Germany a lot these days... must have been the worldcup last year...

haha, you take off your shoes almost everywhere in Iceland.. you should see how it was in my high-school. Shoes everywhere and if you didn't put them on the shelves, the cleaning ladies would put them in a big box. My shoes were usually there at the end of the day, hehe.
